As CTO at Lockwood, I led the design and delivery of Malipopay, a payment gateway connecting different financial and institutional payment services. The work required bringing bank, mobile-money, card, and government-related integrations into a usable platform and coordinating both internal teams and external partners.
Execution
Define the platform and architecture
Directed the technology architecture, platform configuration, and integration approach for the payment gateway.
Deliver payment integrations
Led bank integrations and worked with mobile-money APIs including M-Pesa, TigoPesa, Airtel Money, Halopesa, and T-Pesa, alongside Mastercard, GePG, and TRA connections.
Coordinate product delivery
Managed development work and relationships with third-party vendors and client IT teams, taking the product from concept through implementation.
Results
- Designed and delivered the Malipopay payment gateway.
- Connected banks, mobile network operators, Mastercard, GePG, and TRA within the platform.
- Established a payment-integration foundation for digital financial products developed through Lockwood.
