My role combined hands-on software engineering with coordination of core banking development. I helped conceptualise, design, and improve the system while translating client needs into technical specifications. The work also required aligning a distributed development team with product, sales, and marketing colleagues.
Execution
Turn requirements into software
Captured client needs, wrote technical specifications, and developed code for core banking systems and services.
Coordinate a distributed team
Orchestrated the work of more than 60 software developers across India, Kenya, and Tanzania and acted as a central point for project activities and delivery milestones.
Strengthen engineering delivery
Participated in code reviews, promoted maintainable code and continuous integration and deployment practices, and resolved complex technical issues.
Build team capability
Mentored junior engineers and worked across functions to keep product development aligned with business and customer needs.
