Work
I was responsible for Lockwood’s technology architecture, platform configuration, data-management approach, and delivery of digital products. The role combined hands-on integration work with leadership of multidisciplinary teams and coordination with clients, financial partners, and external vendors. The portfolio spanned payments, group savings, lending, education, and service-sector platforms.
Execution
- Directed the architecture and technical delivery of Malipopay, including bank and mobile-money integrations and connections to Mastercard, GePG, and TRA.
- Led Kikoba’s group-savings platform and the KIJUMBE USSD savings initiative with Vodacom M-Pesa and Absa Bank; developed Mwendopesa for informal-sector working capital.
- Led the launch of Jikite and collaborated with vendors on the Mwalimu Nyerere Academy Student Information System, including GePG, NACTE, and NECTA integrations.
- Managed development teams and third-party relationships from product concept through implementation and launch.
Results
- Designed and delivered Malipopay and built and scaled Kikoba.
- Delivered KIJUMBE’s USSD savings solution and Mwendopesa’s lending product for informal-sector customers.
- Launched Jikite and implemented an integrated student information system.
